Are You Gonna Be My Girl
This outfit post was formed through the influence of both an illustration and a song. I came across the sketch below, and while waiting for the artists' permission to showcase her work on my blog, I was reminded of these lyrics by Jet:
"Big black boots, long brown hair, she's so sweet, with her get back stare"
Red top, £14 / Levi's distressed jeans / Lirika Matoshi fishnet stocking, £150 / Madewell suede shoes, £49 / Fjällräven fjallraven backpack, £45 / Circle glasses, £28 / Polaroid accessory, £38 / Mudd elastic hair tie, £6.81

After sharing my outfit, with a few friends, the general consensus was that it represented the 'art hoe aesthetic'. This is a fairly new term which was said to be coined by singer Babeo Baggins but popularised as a style and movement by teen creator Mars. It is often associated with mustard sweaters, round glasses, and led to the height of popularity of Kanken backpacks amongst young people. However, this look is much more than just a fashion trend, it's a movement and a lifestyle, as explained by Rosie Accola here.
I'm sorry it took a while to get this post up. Unfortunately, I've been having a few health issues, but should be back on track soon :)
