Different Universe

'Different Universe' is the opening track to 'Crown of Nothing': a concept album by Milwaukee-based punk rock band 'Direct Hit!' I love concept albums, as while the focus is on the music (of course), there is a narrative which weaves throughout all the tracks to tell a story or discuss a subject. “Crown Of Nothing is a story about angels and demons... [the track] ‘Altered States’ in particular is about the existential crisis that arises when I think hard enough about heaven, and how an infinite existence, no matter how comfortable, can’t be meaningful” - frontman Nick Woods

The music video centres around a murder and a cover-up, it also acts as a trailer for the full story, making use of both metaphorical and literal visuals. I decided to keep this outfit simple to contrast this: black and white with blood-red accents. Details here.

Had you heard of 'Direct Hit!' before? I discovered them through one of my 'Discover Weekly' playlists on Spotify, sometimes it gives some really amazing suggestions for new tracks, other times I find myself skipping through the entire list and not really liking anything.
