Run Away With Me

On 5th April 2018 Polyvore shut down. It was a much-loved creative tool popularised by fashion enthusiasts, students and bloggers alike. Polyvore may have come to an end since I last posted to this blog but I recently discovered a new website called ShopLook; a self proclaimed 'Fashion Playground' with the largest active community of Polyvore users on the web and as such have decided to continue my old series as part of my coursework for 2019.

Let's kick things off with a slightly cheesy bop by Carly Rae Jepsen. Remember 'Call Me Maybe'? It's not that one. Pop was never my genre of choice in college but this song stuck with me throughout the Summer of 2015 and I recently rediscovered it: 'Run Away With Me'. I think what I enjoy about this song is the way the beat builds throughout it in time with the melody. It also reminds me of being nineteen, fresh out of college and not really sure what I was going to do next. I ended up working a Next for a year before going to University. That was something. This look is sweet and simple, very reminiscent of how brave I was with fashion before I moved to Aberdeen (not very), there's nothing wrong with a simple outfit but I'm glad I've branched out a lot since then and had fun experimenting with different patterns, textures and styles.

The next post is about a song I loved during my first year at RGU, well a whole album really, it's amazing when you love every song on an album but I feel like it's pretty rare with modern music. That's a rant for another day though.
