Hurt

Recently I've been loving listening to older music from the likes of Johnny Cash. My favourite songs by him are 'Danny Boy', 'I Walk the Line', and 'Hurt'. The last one I have a particular sweet spot for and as such it is the inspiration for today's look. The song is simple yet spellbinding. I'm not afraid to admit it's made me cry on numerous occasions.

'Hurt' first appeared on Nine Inch Nails' album, 'The Downward Spiral' in 1994, complete with eerie background noise and heavily distorted drum beats. It was upon rediscovering this on Spotify that I found my love for Cash's 2002 cover and thus his music again.

I'm a huge fan of anything distressed so the jacket and cap are straight up my street. Velvet and checked items are huge this year with the 90's revival in full swing. Lace is as popular as always and adds a flirty vibe to the outfit.
